In this part of International Group of P&I Clubs safety animation video on enclosed space entry, the club marks how external pressure can result to a casualty.
It is known that fatalities caused by oxygen depletion in confined or enclosed spaces on ships remain a major issue.
In light of the situation, the International Group produced a safety training animation that draws attention to the risk of entering such spaces without first taking preventive and protective measures.
According to the video above:
External pressure to get a job done can and does lead to fatal accidents. Fully assess the risks involved and do not undertake a task unless there is sufficient time and resources to complete it safely.
