A suspected cyber-attack of the management information system (MIS) has vastly affected the container terminal run by the state-owned port authority at Jawaharlal Nehru Port on February 21.
The incident forced the Jawaharlal Nehru Container Terminal (JNPCT) to divert one container ship to other terminals at the port located near Mumbai. What is more, JNPCT is not accepting vessels alongside due to outage of the system and has diverted one vessel.
Jawaharlal Nehru Port handles about 50% of the overallcontainerised cargo volume, across the major ports of India. In addition to JNPCT, the port has four privately-run terminals, which are reportedly not affected.
As of now, the port authority have not made any comment regarding the attack.
