Several organizations have partnered with the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) to work on a carbon capture and storage project.
In particular, ENEOS Corporation, JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation, Electric Power Development Co., Ltd., and West Japan Carbon Dioxide Storage Survey Co., Ltd. have jointly signed a consignment contract with JOGMEC for “Engineering Design Work for Advanced CCS Projects.”
Overview of the project:
Following the feasibility study conducted in FY2023 the project will enhance the accuracy and reduce costs by conducting engineering design related to the CCS value chain. Moreover, it will be conducting preliminary surveys for exploratory drilling, procuring long lead items, and evaluating the storage potential.
