The world’s largest plug-in hybrid vessel, Color Hybrid, received the title of ‘Ship of the Year 2019’. Ulstein Group CEO Gunvor Ulstein received the Award from HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, during the Nor-Shipping exhibition on 4 June 2019.
Color Hybrid is being constructed at Ulstein Verft, designed by Fosen Yard, and will start operations between Sandefjord, Norway and Strömstad, Sweden this summer.

It will feature a battery package of 4.7 MWh, thus being able to travel 12 nautical miles only on battery power, charged with shore power in Sandefjord.
With 160m in length and 27.1m in the beam, the vessel has a capacity of carrying up to 2,000 passengers and 500 cars.

She also expressed her appreciation towards the ship owner, Color Line, for trusting Ulstein Verft for constructing the ship.
