The delivery of the first USV, which is designed for medium- to large-scale hydrographic survey applications, is scheduled for Q2 2019.
Moreover, Wim Herijgers, the Director Innovation Marine for Fugro pointed out that the company is pleased to have reached an agreement with L3 ASV and that in the future a major portion of their marine business could be optimised through the utilisation of autonomous and remote technology. Continuing, Herijgers stated that this partnership aligns with the company’s strategy to leverage technology to reduce offshore staff exposure and make the operations more efficient.
Finally, Vince Dobbin, Sales and Marketing Director at L3 ASV added that the collaboration aims to offer ways for collecting data in a more efficient way.
