A K-Line car carrier called ‘Diamond Highway’ has been abandoned in the South China Sea, as fire erupted on board the ship on June 16. Because of the fire, all 25 of the crew members had to abandon the ship.
As local media inform, ‘Diamond Highway’ caught fire as it was sailing near Recto Bank (Reed Bank).

The fire broke out on Sunday night, forcing all 25 of the crew to abandon the vessel. After the crew abandoned the ship, they were rescued by the bulk carrier ‘Canupos Leader’ and are being transported to Thailand.
‘Diamond Highway’ was sailing from Singapore to Batangas, Philippines.
Now, the Philippines Coast Guard has deployed the BRP Cabra to extinguish the fire.
