Fire broke out onboard the general cargo ship “Fortuner” on January 12, in Indonesian waters, with initial information reporting that the cause was a short circuit in the engine room.

After the fire broke out, it quickly spread to the vessel’s accommodation block.

Luckily, all crew were evacuated safely from the ship, which was moored at an anchorage at the port of Gresik.

The fire was eventually put out just before midnight, however images from the scene indicate that general cargo ship will be unrepairable.
