An explosion took place onboard a tanker’s engine room at the Port of Makhachkala, Russia, on June 11. The explosion occurred while oil products were being pumped at the port, while three people died, and three others were transferred to the hospital.
The fire onboard the tanker has now been fully extinguished, the Russian news agency TASS reported the local Emergencies Ministry saying.
Namely, by 13:20 Moscow time the fire, which had covered an area of 600 square meters, has been fully put out. The firefighting effort included 57 personnel and 15 pieces of equipment of Dagestan’s Emergencies Ministry.
The blast was reported in the tanker’s engine room, as oil products were being pumped at Makhachkala’s port. Due to the explosion three people died, while three more were hospitalized.
