According to reports, ship traffic in Istanbul’s Bosphorus Strait was halted on 17 November in both due to a rudder failure on a tanker vessel.
The vessel was en route from Russia to Kocaeli in Turkey and faced mechanical problems in the strait as reported.
Tugboats helped anchor the tanker safely at Ahirkapi. Local news reported that northbound traffic resumed in the strait on the same day.
