Terminal Zárate, located in Buenos Aires signed an agreement with GlobalSim, training solution provider, for two new crane simulators. The facility will be provided with a simulation platform with various configuration options, such as rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs), mobile harbour cranes, and ship pedestal cranes as part of a plan to enhance training and preparation for crane operators.
Additionally, Terminal Zárate will also leverage a portable virtual reality system focusing on training for operators working with its hydraulic telescopic crane.
For the time being, GlobalSim is developing both of the systems at its headquarters and will trial them, prior to installing them at the terminal in Q2 2019.
Moreover, Gustavo Oliver, General Manager at Terminal Zárate noted that, when the terminal started being reconstructed, it was of a great importance to train the staff and develop operators to become more efficient.
We knew that incorporating a GlobalSim simulator into our program would be just the element we needed to accomplish our training goals.
Finally, when the project is into operation, the Terminal Zárate will have the ability to conduct simulated, real-life situations seen in their area and cut the time and costs of their training.
