DMA is in effect immediately through 30 January 2014
The Republic of the Marshall Islands has issued Marine Notice Advisory on new voluntary speed restrictions zone in effect through 30 January 2014. A Dynamic Management Area (DMA) has been established 46 nautical miles southeast of Nantucket to protect an aggregation of 3 right whales.
Mariners are requested to avoid or transit at 10 knots or less inside the following areas where persistentaggregations of right whales have been sighted:
46NM Southeast of Nantucket DMA — in effect through 30 January 2014
41 04N
40 24N
69 38W
68 45W
Mandatory speed restrictions of 10 knots or less (50 CFR 224.105) are in effect in the following areas: Cape Cod Bay SMA — in effect through 15 May 2014 Mid-Atlantic SMAs — in effect through 30 April 2014 Southeast SMAs — in effect through 15 April 2014 |
