HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) recently revealed that it has secured a 247.9 billion won contract (around $183.6 million) with a European shipping company to construct two liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessels.
These ships will be built by HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard and are scheduled for delivery by November 2027. With these latest contracts, HD KSOE has received orders for 150 vessels (including one offshore unit) this year, totaling $16.97 billion, surpassing 125.7% of its annual target of $13.5 billion.
The orders include various vessel types, such as eight LNG carriers, two LNG bunkering vessels, 60 petrochemical carriers (PCs), 44 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, 12 container ships, one ethane carrier, two liquefied carbon dioxide (LCO2) carriers, six very large crude carriers (VLCCs), seven tankers, two pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs), one floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), one offshore unit, and four specialized vessels.
