Seafarer wellbeing has always been a focal topic for Standard Club and this year we join the maritime industry in celebrating the annual Day of the Seafarer (DotS) for the twelfth time on 25 June, says Mr. Min Jie Lee, Club's Loss Prevention Executive.

Providing an update regarding the ports' situation in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov, Standard Club informs about today's situation. 

The Standard Club published FAQs, answering a number of questions that are frequently asked relating to decarbonisation and alternative fuels.

During the GREEN4SEA Forum 2022, Capt. Akshat Arora, Senior Surveyor, Standard Club, and Jamie Wallace, Legal Director, Standard Club talked about the potential that alternative fuels have in shipping. Speaking from an insurer’s perspective, Capt. Arora and Mr. Wallace presented the current landscape regarding alternative fuels, and made recommendations for their best use.

Approval is given to merging North and Standard Club after separate member meetings resoundingly back plans to create one of the largest providers of mutual cover in the maritime industries.

North P&I and Standard Club announced that they have entered formal discussions in order to propose a merging plan and create a new global marine insurer and one of the largest providers of mutual cover in the maritime industries.

On 5 March 2022, the Singapore government imposed sanctions against Russia in response to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The economic sanctions targeting Russia continue to evolve and escalate with many being coordinated among the EU, UK, US, and their allies including sanctions against President Putin and the Central Bank of Russia.
