Two cargo ships collided approximately 4 miles off the coast of Kefalonia, Greece, causing a fire onboard one of the vessels. 

A collision occurred on the bank of the Corinth Canal on Wednesday evening involving a cargo ship registered under the Greek flag.

The Greek company that owned and operated the Galissas, its captain, and chief engineer were each sentenced in U.S. District Court in Rhode Island on 10th August, for environmental crimes committed in February 2022, announced United States Attorney Zachary A. Cunha.
