Seedronics has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) to jointly develop unmanned surface vehicles (USVs).
This agreement aims to enhance the safety and efficiency of USV operations in complex maritime environments through close technical collaboration and personnel exchanges. The partnership will focus on advancing AI-based situational awareness and autonomous navigation technologies, with both parties contributing expertise to accelerate the development of next-generation USVs.
Ng Chad-Son, CEO of DSTA, highlighted the strategic importance of the collaboration in preparing for future maritime security challenges and establishing a new operational paradigm for the Singapore Navy.
Seedronics CEO Park Byeol-ter expressed confidence that the agreement marks a major turning point in marine AI, emphasizing the company’s commitment to contributing to global maritime security and environmental protection.
The initiative is expected to enable USVs to conduct missions such as surveillance, reconnaissance, and search and rescue, while also reducing maritime risks and enhancing defense capabilities.
