The passenger ferry "Eleftherios Venizelos" has been at the centre of attention after 119 outbreaks of COVID-19 had been reported onboard the vessel amongst its 380 passengers. The crew members who were negative for the COVID-19 test will be repatriated after being gradually transferred to hotels in Athens for the next 36 hours. However, passengers who are positive for COVID - 19 will remain in isolation on board for 14 days.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the travel bans that has brought, Greece informed that the shipping trade at the Port of Piraeus is still not impacted, as it remains operational. According to Xinhua, Greek port authorities haven't put any restrictions to the import or export of cargo at the moment.

Attica Group reported that, in line with the guidelines of National Public Health Organization and the Hellenic coast guard, the ferry is able to depart the port and continue its journey.

The passenger ferry “Blue Star Mykonos” is in quarantine at Port Limnos after a crewmember experienced COVID-19 symptoms. The ferry remains docked at Limnos, awaiting for the test results. For the time being, Blue Star Mykonos accommodates 341 passengers and 77 crewmembers.

Pirates attacked the Greek-flagged chemical tanker Minerva Virgo in the Gulf of Guinea, the ship's management company said Thursday. Minerva Virgo was underway about 45 nm off Benin with 22 crew members onboard when 5-6 individuals boarded the ship. 

The Cook Islands-flagged cargo vessel 'Von Perle' grounded in the area of Ammoglossa, Kos, Greece, on March 1st. At the time of the incident, the ship was carrying 8 crewmembers, all of whom are healthy. No pollution was reported neither.
