The Cook Islands-flagged cargo vessel ‘Von Perle’ grounded in the area of Ammoglossa, Kos, Greece, on March 1st. At the time of the incident, the ship was carrying 8 crewmembers, all of whom are healthy. No pollution was reported neither.
The vessel had started its journey from Ukraine, heading to Cyprus, when it grounded of Kos, with 8 crewmembers on board, and 3.300 metric tons of corn.
Luckily, no one was injured due to the grounding, while no pollution was reported. After the incident, a boat from the Hellenic Coast Guard arrived on scene for assistance.
Nevertheless, with the help of a tow boat, the ship managed to leave the area. It has now safely anchored at Kos, while local authorities are not permitting its departure, until receiving its class paperwork.
