Colombia welcomes its largest vessel to date

According to a recent statement, the large-scale vessel, APL Esplanade, with a capacity of 13,892 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), recently arrived at Puerto Aguadulce, confirming Buenaventura as a strategic port city for Colombia and its foreign trade.

Ocean Alliance to deploy 325 ships on new Day 4 product

On 9 January, the French container company CMA CGM shake hands with its Asian counterparts COSCO Shipping, Evergreen Line and OOCL and inked an agreement for the launch of Ocean Alliance Day 4 Product, which is scheduled to start in April 2020. A total amount of 112 containers are going to be deployed by the shipping majors.

Ukrainian ports handled more than 1 million TEU containers in 2019

According to a recent statement, the Ukrainian seaports exceeded the volume of container transshipment of 1 million TEU at the end of 2019, for the first time in the last 10 years. According to the operational data of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), one million and three and a half thousand TEU containers were handled in the ports for the whole of 2019; this is more than 18% higher than in 2018.

ContainerShips introduces its 4th LNG-fueled vessel

ContainerShips, the subsidiary of CMA CGM Group, officially announced that successfully delivered its 4th LNG-fueled ship, the “CONTAINERSHIPS ARCTIC”, enhancing its role in the sustainable shipping market. Specifically, the 1,380-TEU containerships were delivered on 10 December 2019.

CMA CGM partners with Shell on biofuel supply

The CMA CGM Group is collaborating with Shell to supply tens of tons of marine biofuel to its fleet, enabling the Group’s ships to sail with nearly 1 million kilometers, equivalent to over 80 round-trips between Rotterdam and New York.
