The Port of Aden, Yemen, has issued a circular highlighting the obligation of compliance with the depth of water in Malla docks, under which a ship’s arrival draft should not exceed 10.4 m.

Operators may risk of being fined for any violation of the requirement, warned the UK P&I Club, citing information by local correspondents, GAC.
Under the circular from the port of Aden, any ships that ignore the obligation would be fined as follow:
- If the arrival draft of the ship exceeds to 10.5 m to 10.7 m, then the amount of the fine would be $100 for every centimeter.
- If the arrival draft of the ship exceeds to 10.7 m to 10.85 m, then the amount of fine would be $700 for every centimeter.
All the shipping agents should abide with this circular and inform their principals.
