This is the second educational film by the HRAS (Human Rights At Sea) with the aim to focus on the application of the human rights in the maritime environment.
The organisation highlights that the ILO MLC,2006 is a landmark Convention which highlights seafarers’ rights regarding fair working conditions. Under amendments adopted, the shipowners must follow new rules; they are obliged to cover the cost of abandonment of seafarers as well as claims for death or long-term disability.
