The Danish Maritime Authority launched on January 23, the first meeting in the Danish-South Korean Green Ship Expert Committee (GSEC). The collaboration is the result of the strategic partnership between Denmark and South Korea, that was formed during the 60-year anniversary, in 2011.
Mainly, the collaboration originates in the anniversary for the dispatch of the hospital ship M/S JUTLANDIA.
In addition, the Green Ship Expert Committee is scheduled to put in place the framework on new technology and sustainable solutions in the shipping industry.
Andreas Nordseth, Director General of the Danish Maritime Authority commented that
With the combination of expertise within shipping, ship building as well as development and production of maritime equipment, we are well matched to find solutions to the challenges of future shipping together.
In the past, Denmark has cooperated with Indonesia on the matter of sustainable growth. Both countries’ goal was to highlight the challenges the world faces because of climate change, green growth and sustainable development.
