Maria Tsompanoglou

Maria Tsompanoglou holds the position of Energy Performance Manager at Pantheon Tankers, Alpha Bulkers and Alpha Gas since July 2018, heading the responsible department for the per-formance monitoring and environmental compliance of more than 70 vessels, the majority of which are equipped with high frequency data-acquisition systems. Prior to her current role, she worked at Minerva Marine Inc for 21 years in the performance engineering and new build-ing projects sections and as Head of Energy Efficiency. Proficient in energy efficiency and envi-ronmental compliance issues, with experience in technical tasks, she has been responsible for a number of new buildings & other technical projects, including scrubbers and performance monitoring and engine diagnostic applications. Maria holds a Master’s degree in Naval Archi-tecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a Mas-ter’s Degree in Maritime Studies from the University of Piraeus.

EEXI & CII rating compliance with energy saving technologies: Do they suffice?

During the 2023 GREEN4SEA Athens Forum, Mrs. Maria Tsompanoglou, Energy Performance Manager, Pantheon Tankers Management Ltd, presented an overview of the impact of specific energy-saving technologies on the EEXI & CII for large tankers and bulk carriers. The presentation focused on the most widely known energy-saving technologies that are already widespread in the market and have proven their effectiveness: pre-swirl stators, PBCFs and low-friction coatings.
