Royal Boskalis has created a joint venture with Hwa chi, to undertake the transport and installation of submarine foundations for CIP’s Chang Fang and Xidao projects. In addition, Boskalis aims to expand in Taiwan's emerging wind industry in the next five to 10 years.

The construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2023, with the wind farms having a combined capacity of 600 megawatts.

CIP said it is further looking to localize the supply chain for another 100 megawatts in wind power capacity.

In addition, CIP Taiwan project office chief executive officer Jesper Krarup Holst, highlighted the company's aspiration for the authorities to allow it to conduct overseas purchases to make sure that the projects are completed on time.

In the same wavelength, CIP Taiwan project office director Marina Hsu, stated that the company needs more freedom to sign overseas contracts. This would ensure the profitability of its projects.
