Maersk and Rockstart are collaborating in an initiative called FoodTrack. This initiative aims to encourage startups to come up with ideas for tackling a serious global issue: food loss.
Currently one-third of the global food production is wasted, and almost 80% of the food loss happens before it even reaches the stores.

To give a solution to this problem, Maersk and Rockstar will conduct three rounds of the month-long FoodTrack program in 2018 and 2019. 10 startups will be chosen for each round, and they will focus on technologies that reduce food loss.
The chosen startups for the first edition of the FoodTrack program will spend one month at Maersk’s office in Copenhagen, where they will receive guidance from mentors.
When the program is completed, the FoodTrack startups will get a follow-on funding from Maersk or they will even start a partnership.
The applications for the first FoodTrack program will be open from April 17 to May 20. The program will start on June 6 and will finish on July 6. Then, a post-programme session will open, which will include Partnership Opportunities.
