A video circulated through social media captured the time when the 13,900 TEU container ship Milano Bridge allided with an STS gantry crane at the port of Busan, on 6 April.
As a result, the crane collapsed, dropping its boom onto the ship’s stern. Four more cranes were pushed off of their tracks and temporarily taken out of work.
Korean media report the crane’s driver injured his ankle while attempting to escape the scene, and was transferred to hospital.
Milano Bridge, operated by Japanese K-Line, was built at Imabari in Japan and was delivered in 2018.
