Monitors to track cruise ships emissions in Greenwich

An £80,000 network of air pollution monitors, funded by the Port of London Authority, is now in place, ready to record the effect of emissions locally from cruise ships docking in Greenwich this summer. The eight monitoring stations are located close to the Greenwich Ship Tier landing stage. They will capture data all day long, with the raw data available at the websites of both the PLA and Breathe London.

UK spending must have infrastructure funding as a priority, BPA says

The British Ports Association has written to the UK’s Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Liz Truss MP, urging that the upcoming Comprehensive Spending Review to consider how to replicate the EU's schemes that provide investment for the transport and infrastructure network. The BPA also called for new mechanisms to be created to help UK projects benefit from European Investment Bank loans.

Port of Tyne to increase its offshore wind potential

The Port of Tyne informed that it is increasing its offer to potential offshore wind manufacturers. Namely, the Port has almost completed the final phase of a major investment programme to infill Tyne Dock and increase its commercial property portfolio. A £3 million programme will complete Tyne Dock infill, leading to an additional 30 acres of land with deep-sea quayside access to support offshore wind.
