Moore Stephens published its annual report for owner managed business, saying that due to continued uncertainty, owner managed business confidence has decreased for 2019. This shows a declining confidence for 2019, as well as the prospects for business performance in the year to come. The main reason for the reduction in confidence is Brexit.

A new research by DNV GL, showed that companies’ resilience to volatile market conditions will be put to the test in 2019. This will happen because business leaders expect the industry to commit to greater investment to meet hydrocarbon demand. 67% of senior oil and gas professionals believe that larger, capital-intensive oil and gas projects will be approved.

A new industry report launched by Lloyd’s Register, reveals the pace, development and adoption of predictive analytics in oil and gas. Namely, 57 of the world’s 100 largest oil and gas firms are using, or have plans to use, predictive analytics. The report found structural shifts that have been hiding, and noted that global value chains are being reshaped by rising demand and new industry capabilities.

The World Economic Forum published the "Global Risks Report 2019", highlighting the top risks that we can expect in the future. In terms of likelihood, environmental and cyber issues complete the top five. As for technology, it will continue to play a key role in the global risks landscape.
