Climate change is decreasing the productivity of marine fisheries on a global scale, with some regions experiencing large gains in productivity and others experiencing large losses; Thus, the reports states that climate change will serious impact ocean and coral reef tourism. 

Oceanographers and engineers at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California San Diego collaborated to modify a common physical oceanography instrument to be able to image zooplankton as it glides through the ocean.

Solutions to address human-induced “Ocean Change” are needed to save life in the ocean and reverse the cycle of decline in which it is caught, according to Fiji's Ambassador Peter Thomson, the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for the Ocean.

At the 2017 UN Ocean Conference being held in New York this week, UN asks countries to support a ‘zero draft’ Call To Action, which stands for an acceleration of “actions to prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds”. This means that governments must implement tighter marine pollution controls or risk further degradation of the oceans, fish stocks and ecosystems.

An international team of scientists has concluded that "highly protected" marine reserves can help mitigate the effects of climate change and it suggests that these areas be expanded and better managed throughout the world.
