USCG extends lava flow safety zone in Hawai

USCG announced that it is extending the existing temporary safety zone surrounding the entry of lava from the Kilauea volcano into the navigable waters of the Pacific Ocean on the southeast side of the Island of Hawaii, HI, for an additional six months. The latest zone was enforced in late March. 

Get forthcoming CICs on your radar

Global Navigation Solutions is giving its support to seafarers ahead of the forthcoming Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on navigation safety which will be jointly carried out from the Paris MoU, Tokyo MoU, Black Sea MoU, Indian Ocean MoU and Vina del Mar for three months, from 1st September up to 30 November 2017.

CIC Questionnaire on Safety of Navigation is now available

Paris MoU has released the  questionnaire for the forthcoming CIC on safety of navigation in compliance with SOLAS Chapter V. The aim of the CIC is to check compliance with the applicable requirements of the SOLAS Convention, the overall status of the vessel’s navigation safety, and the competency of crew involved in navigation operations. The Paris MoU will conduct the CIC jointly with the Tokyo MoU from 1 September to 30 November 2017.
