Hapag-Lloyd recently announced its collaboration with the 2M Alliance members, Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). Specifically, companies signed a space charter agreement which will further allow Hapag-Lloyd’s entrance into selected services of 2M on the Asia-North Europe trade.

The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and Mwani Qatar signed a container services agreement, in order to allow MSC’s transhipments,through the use of Hamad Port as a regional hab. Specifically, MSC will manage up to 150,000 TEUs per year and is estimated a growth up to one million TEUS until 2023.
PSA Singapore reported that it accommodated the largest containership to ever visit the port, MSC Isabella, the 23,000 TEU container vessel; The port of Singapore is the first port of call in Asia for the vessel, after continuing its voyage to Europe.
