EBIS transition to OCIMF announced

The Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) and the European Barge Inspection Scheme (EBIS) announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to transition key elements of EBIS into OCIMF’s SIRE programme with the vision that a single barge inspection scheme within the inland European region will be achieved.

Emissions-free barge concept to be developed

Wärtsilä has joined a consortium to form Zero Emission Services B.V. (ZES), an enterprise aimed at making inland waterway shipping more sustainable. The other founders of ZES are ING Bank, energy and technical service provider Engie, and the Port of Rotterdam Authority. The concept is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
