Eni celebrated the sail away of the Tango Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) and Excalibur Floating Storage Unit (FSU) vessels from Dubai to Congo’s offshore. The milestone aligns with the timeline of the Congo LNG project, whose first phase will startup in December 2023.

According to EIA, Argentina’s domestic natural gas production has been steadily increasing in the past three years, due to the increased production coming from the Neuquén Basin’s Vaca Muerta shale and tight gas play. Its production surpassed the 1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in December 2018.

Shell, oil major, announced that its first shipment of LNG has departed from the Prelude FLNG facility, which is based 475 kilometers North East of Broome in Western Australia. The shipment sails towards customers in Asia, delivered by Valencia Knutsen. 

ExxonMobil is discussing to create a platform that would enhance the export reach of Israel’s largest natural gas field. The oil major is negotiating with Israel’s Leviathan reservoir to establish a floating LNG vessel. This project would enable Leviathan to export to countries that cannot be reached with pipelines and avoid building expensive infrastructure to connect to LNG facilities in Egypt.

DNV GL published a new report, revealing that the vast majority (85%) of professionals working in the LNG sector consider that more investment is necessary in LNG infrastructure to meet forecasts for growing global demand after 2025. On the other hands, 69% stated that uncertainty regarding prices is limiting spending in the mega-projects needed to feed the world's growing demand for LNG.
