NYK Line announced the implementation of exhaust-gas capture and control for car carriers in California as instructed by the CARB.

The UK Club informed that CARB issued a Notice on 30 March 2023 announcing a further extension of the 30-day reporting deadline for California' s Mandatory At-Berth Regulation to 1 May 2023.

Whilst container, reefer, and passenger vessels are so far the only vessel types required to control their emissions while berthed in California, from 1 April 2023, all vessels must submit a report to the authorities within 30 days after visiting one of the state’s ports, the Gard P&I Club highlights.

New compliance requirements for the At Berth Regulation in California went into effect on January 1, 2023.
