Following the COVID-19 outbreak and the crew changes issue that has arise, MS Norwegian Star is expected to arrive at Port of Rotterdam in order to repatriate its crewmembers.
In fact, the cruise vessel is scheduled to berth at the Holland Amerikakade, Cruiseport Rotterdam.
The Port Authority considers it important that crew members can be repatriated and is pleased to be able to cooperate in this operation.
…stated Harbour Master René de Vries.
According to Port of Rotterdam, MS Norwegian Star carries around 200 mainly European and Dutch crewmembers onboard, who will be going home.
Within their arrival, the crew is to be collected and escorted to their transit or final destination
In light of the coronavirus situation, the repatriation operation is taking place at the request of authorities, in line with the strict safety measures that are currently set.
Overall, this is not the first time that Rotterdam welcomes a repatriation vessel. Specifically, several days ago, three cruise vessels of Holland America Group berthed at Cruise Port Rotterdam and repatriated its seafarers.
