Alfa Laval joined the “1.5°C Business Playbook”, a spin-off from the ‘Exponential Roadmap’ initiative, in efforts to become carbon neutral by 2030.
Specifically, the playbook is a guide for climate strategy and action, aiming to transform the economy by changing business focus to zero-carbon solutions.
The company will use the playbook in its own strategy work and to support suppliers, customers and partners in their efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
Referring to the company’s green goal, Tom Erixon, President and CEO of Alfa Laval commented that
If we agree that the world needs to shift to a carbon-neutral economy, then we must do our part in the value chain … In Alfa Laval, we have the ambition to become carbon neutral by 2030. Reaching this goal will require partnerships. Therefore, we are pleased to support this initiative which is based on the latest science and focuses on simplicity and speed.
The company aims to reduce its impact on the environment and become green, setting long-term goals to support this decsion. Among the goals is reductions of energy and water consumption as well as carbon emissions.
Following the path of decarbonization, Danish offshore wind company Ørsted revealed its target to become carbon neutral by 2025 and reach net-zero emissions across its entire supply chain by 2040, in line with the global ambitions set under the Paris Agreement.
