Since 2008, the Group has reduced its CO2 emissions by 49% (TEU-km), in line with its objective of reaching -50% emissions by 2030.
This reduction is in line with the Group’s target of becoming carbon neutral by 2050 and increasing the share of alternative fuels consumed to 10% by 2023.
In addition, the company announced it is growing its fleet of LNG-powered vessels, planning to own a fleet of 32 LNG-powered container ships by the end of 2022.
Last year, CMA CGM also launched the Coalition for the Energies of the Future, initiated by Chairman and CEO, Rodolphe Saadé. 14 international companies are committed to stepping up the pace of the development of energies and technologies for the future to support new sustainable mobility solutions and thus reduce the environmental footprint of transport and logistics.
