RISK4SEA, a leading provider of Port State Control (PSC) intelligence, is proud to announce the 2nd edition of its Top PSC Performers List, recognizing excellence across sixteen (16) segments of the oceangoing fleet.
The Top PSC Performers List celebrates outstanding performance within the PSC ecosystem, covering ships, managers, and inspections, with the goal of fostering transparency, fairness, and continuous improvement.
To ensure fair and accurate comparisons, RISK4SEA has developed a comprehensive benchmarking methodology. Vessels are evaluated within their respective categories—for example, Handymax vessels are compared with other Handymax vessels, and VLCCs with other VLCCs—to maintain consistency and reliability.
Apo Belokas, Founder & CEO of RISK4SEA, stated: ‘‘With a focus on embracing excellence, we are thrilled to announce the 2nd edition of the Top PSC Performers, meticulously mapping the entire PSC ecosystem—including PSC stations, ships, managers, and inspections.”
The “PSC Top 10 Performers List” is the culmination of a robust benchmarking methodology, designed to be practical, accurate, and verifiable. This approach incorporates geotagged PSCI data for specific ship types, fleet segments, and age groups, ensuring that rankings are meaningful and applicable in real-world scenarios.
By accounting for critical variables such as ship type, fleet segment, and age group—and utilizing geotagged PSC inspection data alongside key port-specific performance indicators (KPIs)—RISK4SEA aims to democratize access to PSC intelligence, highlight performance trends, and promote best practices across the maritime sector.
The Top PSC Performers List recognizes high achievers throughout the shipping industry, from large-scale operators to smaller players whose contributions often go unnoticed.
We are excited to introduce this initiative, making PSC intelligence accessible to a broader segment of the market. Our goal is to update and circulate these rankings quarterly, covering data from the last 36 months. By doing so, we aim to illuminate PSC performance, promote safety excellence, and recognize smaller players who excel but may not always receive the same spotlight as industry giants.
… Apo Belokas added.
This milestone coincides with the launch of a new initiative, “PSC Resilient 50”, which highlights the Top 50 Managers with PSC inspections (PSCIs) free of any detentions. Both initiatives provide transparent access to the documentary evidence and in-depth research supporting RISK4SEA’s findings.
