Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV), awarded MicroSec a Letter of Attestation (LoA) for its CyberAssessor tool, designed to support shipowners to remain compliant with the International Association of Classification Society (IACS) UR E26 “Cyber Resilience of Ships” requirements.
The CyberAssessor tool allows shipbuilders to generate UR E26 compliant reports during the commissioning phase, as well as for ship owners during the operational life of the ship. UR E26 represents the most stringent cybersecurity requirement for new builds and also guides ship owners and operators to enable continuous cybersecurity readiness for their existing vessels and fleets.
Furthermore, BV employed a rigorous evaluation process to analyze how MicroSec’s CyberAssessor tool maps cybersecurity practices against the UR E26 standard, helping ensure that MicroSec’s platform provides accurate and trustworthy assessments.
The LoA is the latest in a close partnership between MicroSec and BV. In that spirit, MicroSec and BV have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) affirming both organization’s commitment to increased collaboration, cooperations and interaction for the development and understanding of cyber security. The purpose of the MoU is to work together to develop new technologies, projects, and policies that will support the advancement of cyber security within the maritime industry.
