Amid the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic along with the ongoing crew change crisis, BIMCO has decided to offer to its members free access to mental help support during the Christmas and New Year season.
It is known that the maritime sector is dealing with several difficulties due to to coronavirus outbreak.
In light of the situation, BIMCO will provide to all of its members and staff onshore and onboard, professional psychologists free of charge, over the Christmas and New Year period from 24 December 2020 to 1 January 2021.
In fact, Mental Health Support Solutions (MHSS) and its psychologists team, will professionally support and provide solutions to individuals and prevent further possible harm.
It is believed that the pressures on maritime professionals will increase during Christmas and New Year. Therefore, BIMCO members and their staff can communicate with MHSS’ professional psychologists 24/7 – by freephone call or whatsapp.
As explained, all communications will be anonymous, while a multi-lingual team in charge, will listen, diagnose and prescribe any relief required.
