The general cargo ship River Elber experienced an engine failure in the morning of April 1 while transiting Bosphorus.
The ship had left Novorossiysk Russiam heading to the UK, and had to emergency anchor in the Strait, to stop drifting.
Upon informed about the inciden, tugs responded, while the ship completed the transit under tow.
According to informatiom the ship was anchored at Ahirkapi anchorage, Istanbul, later the same day.
