Container caught fire after explosion in cargo hold of container ship MORNING VINAFCO, docked at Ben Nghe, Ho Chin Minh, Vietnam, in the afternoon Sep 4.
Specifically, the fire occurred after welding workers performed maintenance near the container cellar.
According to local media soucers, at 8:45 a.m. on September 4, the cargo ship MORNING VINAFCO was docking at Ben Nghe port (HCMC) when a fire suddenly appeared in the tunnel.
Ben Nghe port border guard station coordinated with Khanh Hoi port border gate station and district 7 fire police to control the fire after 30 minutes.
According to Captain Nguyen Tan Hung, the fire came from a container containing packaging in the hold of the ship. In the morning of the same day, the ship had welding and maintenance work near the container cargo hold, a moment later there was an explosion and a fire appeared.
For the records, MORNING VINAFCO vessel with a tonnage of 6,250 tons, from Da Nang port to Ben Nghe port at 10 pm on September 3 to receive goods.
