The general cargo ship “KOTA BAHAGIA” was docked at Napier Port in New Zealand, when a fire broke out in the morning local time on Dec 18.
The vessel, which is operated by Singapore’s PIL, was carrying general cargo, machinery and components.
However, following an explosion onboard the vessel, an unexpected fire started.
Currently, firefighters are fighting fire, which seems to be contained in one cargo hold.
In light of the situation, the crewmembers were forced to evacuate the vessel and were transferred to an isolated facility.
Concluding, all port operations were suspended, while there were no injures reported.
