The container ship MSC Houston V lost 15 containers in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Portugal on March 20 after encountering severe weather conditions from Storm Martinho.
The vessel had departed from Piraeus, Greece, and was en route to Liverpool, UK, when it was hit by rough seas and wind gusts of up to 48 knots near Cape St. Vincent. The storm caused a partial stack collapse, with many containers falling overboard and others left damaged or precariously hanging over the starboard side near the stern.

In response to the incident, MSC Houston V diverted to the Spanish port of Vigo, arriving on the morning of March 21 to avoid further risk.
The vessel remains docked at the Termavi Container Terminal, where port authorities are assessing the damage and developing a plan to reposition or remove affected containers.
