An explosion took place onboard the Aframax tanker LR2 Poseidon, on 28 January, Tuzla Ship Repair Yard, Turkey. Because of the explosion, two workers died, while 10 are in the hospital injured. After the explosion, a fire also broke out.
As the Aframax tanker LR2 Poseidon was in Tuzla Ship Repair Yard, in Turkey, for maintenance repairs, an explosion took place in its boiler room.

Because of that two workers lost their lives, while another 10 are injured. The injured have sustained burn injuries and are now in hospital to be treated, with one of them being in critical condition.
After the explosion a fire also broke out. Fire fighters went on scene and were able to put out the fire during the day.
Now, the prosecutor’s office has begun investigations to determine the cause of the incident.
