The Port Authorities of Rotterdam and Gothenburg have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the realization of a Green Corridor to support sustainable shipping between the two ports.

Cepsa and the Port of Rotterdam will work together to establish the first green hydrogen corridor between southern and northern Europe, ensuring a green hydrogen supply chain between two of Europe’s main ports, Rotterdam and Algeciras, as agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both parties.

Understanding what the future might look like is important so that the Port of Rotterdam Authority has developed four diverse global scenarios in detail.

The Port of Rotterdam stakeholders will be able to participate and benefit from an untappable, multi-user quantum network for their critical communication systems.

According to Ansuman Ghosh, Director of Risk Assessment, UK P&I Club, VPS has tested several distillate fuels bunkered in the Port of Rotterdam during August and September 2022, where their Cloud Point reached temperatures as high as 21 degrees Celsius and their Pour Point temperatures were as high as 12 degrees Celsius. 

Industry in Rotterdam-Moerdijk is well positioned not only to meet climate goals but also to contribute to sustainability outside the port area and European energy security of supply.

Drone flights were held in the western port area of the port of Rotterdam on 16 August for AMU-LED, the European demonstration project on the integration of drones in (urban) airspace. The demonstration is part of the preparations to prepare the airspace for autonomous flights.

After conducting a European tender procedure, the Port of Rotterdam Authority has awarded the contract for the construction of a new pipeline strip along the Moezelweg to Swietelsky Rail Benelux B.V. The pipeline strip will accommodate pipes belonging to HyTransPort.RTM and Porthos for the movement of hydrogen and CO2.

Under the name ESI Noise, the Port of Rotterdam Authority will be giving vessels a financial discount if – on the basis of an internationally accepted standard – the amount of noise produced by the vessel when moored has been made transparent.

The Port of Rotterdam announced that Hutchison Ports and Terminal Investment Limited Sàrl (TIL), the terminal investment company of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), will develop a new container terminal in the Europahaven, where the north side of the Hutchison Ports ECT Delta terminal and Hutchison Ports Delta II (the former APMT-R site) are located.
