The 'Power' FPSO hull (Floating production storage and offloading) floated out from dock of the COSCO's shipyards in Zhoushan, China in September, about 10 months after first steel cut. Normally, the hull completion was expected to be complete in 12 months. 

Port of Rotterdam awaits for the arrival of the Black Marlin, on Monday, August 12. The vessel has 18 inland hulls onboard and a crane ship for Damen. The 18 hulls were built in China. The construction of the hulls in China was to be sure of a cost efficient product.

Two bulk carriers, 'Spring Snow' and 'Klima', collided on 4 July within Singapore port waters. During a 40-month trial of an antifouling coating containing an anti-barnacle active agent, barnacles failed to anchor themselves to the tanker's hull. The technology activated the barnacle larvae’s octopamine receptor, keeping them in swimming mode and preventing them from attaching to the hull with non-fatal effect.
