Columbia Shipping Management (CMS) launches, in an industry first, a benefits package which offers seafarers life insurance and an investment plan for medical costs, disability provision, pension planning, or house/car purchase.
During these challenging times, along with the ongoing crew change crisis, seafarers are dealing with many barriers and restrictions, with some not able to leave the vessel in months.
Now, CMS launched the ColumbiaCrewCare benefit package to assist seafarers deal with economic difficulties.
In addition, CMS launched its ColumbiaFit to assist its crewmembers get fit and ensure a healthy well-being. The crewmembers will be equipped with their own fitness equipment and a free phone app, that will track seafarers’ fitness evolution in losing weight, keeping in mind that keeping fit onboard has many benefits for both the body and the mind of the seafarers. It also gives the crew the option to sign up to fitness classes, yoga, relaxation and meditation techniques.
