The bulk carrier “Santorini” was intercepted by Libyan forces on Monday, 11 of March 11 in Libyan waters off Susah, for allegedly sailing into Libyan waters, and especially the waters off Derna, without having been granted authorization to do so.
Namely, Libyan forces fired warning shots to force Santorini to stop and let a military team to board the ship. The ship was then taken to anchorage off Ras Al Hilal, east of Susah, according to sources, with 21 crew including Turkish and Syrian nationalities.
The Greek bulk carrier Santorini had left from Alexandria on March 9, heading to an unknown destination.
