Following the significant rise of COVID-19 cases, Indonesia decided to ban the entry and transit of foreigners from the most affected countries outside China, Iran, Italy and South Korea. In fact, Indonesia will not allow the entrance of travelers coming from countries’ top 10 regions hardest hit by the disease.
In light of the situation, travelers who have visited Teheran, Qom and Gilan in Iran, Lombardi, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Marche and Piedmont in Italy, and Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk province in South Korea during the last 14 days will face the ban’s consequences.
Although, travelers departing from any other places in the three countries, will be allowed to entry in case they provide a health certificated by the countries’ respective health authorities, referring that travelers are healthy, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said.
Specifically, the health certificate must be presented to the airline companies before the check-in.
For the records, Indonesian that have traveled the three countries, will also receive extra health examinations within their arrival.
According to the Straits Times, Indonesia plans to build a new hospital infrastructure in order to provide advanced medical care and treat COVID-19 patients.
Concluding, at the moment coronavirus has infected 10.149 people in Italy, 9.000 in Iran and 7.755 in Republic of Korea.
