Despite the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the German-based terminal operator, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) recently informed that cargo operations and goods’ shipments through its terminal facilities will continue as usual, so as to keep the country fully supplied.
Specifically, HHLA CEO Angela Titzrath announced:
We are aware of our special responsibility as a service provider for Germany as industrial nation. Our employees contribute to maintain that Germany’s supply is secured. HHLA has prepared itself well to deal with the problems caused by the spread of the corona virus and to master this extraordinary situation that has arisen.
Moreover the company marked that the operations are guaranteed on HHLA’s facilities in the ports of Hamburg, Odessa and Tallinn as well as at the sites of rail subsidiary Metrans.
To ensure employees’ protection and avoid a possible infection of COVID-19 in its facilities, the company has taken several safety measures.
Health protection for our employees and stability of operations are two sides of the same coin for us.

Although, HHLA is not the only one that continues its operations. In fact Port of Oakland, Port of Long Beach and Port of Antwerp among others, still remain operational.
